It started with a house full of friends, a few games, and a secret everyone was trying very hard not to give away.
Sravanthi and Akhil’s gender reveal in Ebbsfleet, Kent, was planned by Sravanthi’s friends. They had thought of the decorations, the activities, and all the little ways to keep the couple guessing. By the time everyone gathered outside, the excitement was already impossible to hide.
The Day They Planned
What stood out first wasn’t the balloons. It was the people. Friends were busy getting everyone together, laughing over the games and making sure Sravanthi and Akhil had no idea what was coming.
Nothing felt rehearsed. Someone would start laughing, someone else would join in, and before long the whole group was involved. Those in-between moments became some of our favourite frames.
One More Guess
There were blindfolds, playful challenges and plenty of cheering. You could see how much fun everyone was having — including the friends who already knew the answer.
Then the games gave way to the moment everyone had come for.
It’s a Boy!
Blue confetti burst into the air.
Sravanthi’s surprise and Akhil’s smile came almost at once. Friends shouted, laughed and rushed to celebrate with them. The whole moment lasted only seconds, but the photographs carry every bit of it.
The People Behind the Surprise
Once the confetti had settled, we made time for the friends who had brought the day together. The group photographs don’t just show who was there; they show the people this little boy is already surrounded by.

After all that noise and excitement, we stepped away for a short maternity session. No games, no audience — just a walk, a little golden light and the two of them together.
That contrast is what makes this story special to us. There is the big announcement everyone will remember, and then there are these quiet photographs of two people about to become parents.
Already So Loved
One day, their little boy will see these photographs. He’ll see the blue confetti, the friends who planned the afternoon, and his parents smiling at each other before they had even met him.
